Sleep getting worse with 8 week old...

So my 8 (nearly 9)week old has never been a good sleeper. Each week i find something different to help her sleep, but all methods not working anymore. She clearly is tired, but can't switch off to sleep no matter what i try now. She rejects any dummy, hates slings, swings, rocking to sleep, and screams the house down as soon as i put her next to me to co-sleep. Breastfeeding to sleep doesn't seem to work anymore as well. When she is not tired, she's generally happy and content but finding it harder and harder now getting her to sleep day or night. When she finally falls asleep in my arms, she wakes up 5 minutes afterwards! Its impossible. Atm shes screaming in my arms so upset, and tired, but unable to switch off to sleep after being rocked for hours. I thought it was suppose to get easier as they approach 3 months, not more difficult :-(

I really feel for you @LiliaBell as my DS fought sleep all the way.

He had undiagnosed Tongue tie. Do any of those symptoms sound familiar?

Hello, I feel for you OP as recently been there. I do know that their ‘peak crying’ is around this time so hopefully she will start to become happier as the days pass. I know that’s not helpful right now, but it used to give me a bit of comfort knowing it wouldn’t last forever. I’m a member of a baby forum for the month our babies were born and so many mums posted the same thing around the same time.

It’s worth ruling out what the poster has put above though. My baby has just been diagnosed with mild CMPA and has changed formula so we have also had lots of crying, unhappy baby and it really is soul destroying at times.

I’ve also read that them being overtired can be a factor for them not being able to stay asleep. I definitely noticed that with mine but it’s difficult when he wakes up after half an hour and simply will not go back to sleep. It’s like a vicious cycle!

Good luck and I hope you manage to figure out if there is something wrong or that she just stops of her own accord.
