4 month old waking every hour

4 month old DS has been waking every hour for the last few nights and I’m on my knees with exhaustion. He is breastfed. Sometimes he wants a feed and other times he refuses, because he’s already full I think. He is full of cold and a cough so I’m hoping that once he’s over that things will improve but I don’t know if something else is causing it too. Co sleeping doesn’t help, he still wakes crying. Holding him helps but I can’t hold him all night.
DH has been helping and getting up with him early in the morning so I can stay in bed for a couple of hours but he can’t do that when he’s starting early for work.
I feel poorly I’m so tired.
I don’t know what I’m looking for or why I’m writing this. Just some reassurance that it’ll pass I suppose.

If he's currently ill then that will most likely be the reason. Mine's the same at the moment, it's exhausting!

My daughter is the same! There's a sleep regression at 4 months so I'm really hoping it's that and will pass soon!
