Watching a programme at the moment where the mum looks amazing, hair done, fully made up…hair done… everyday

so I wake up, shove a hoodie on and look like shit and do the school run

oh my god please tell me I am not alone and glam mum is the minority? I aspire to be like that mum but still just cannot get my act together

Well I think that if you want to do it you can, but it depends if you want to do it enough to put the effort in. For me, going to work looking smart and with my hair and make up done makes me feel like I am 'me' and more confident and professional, which I know is daft really. So i prioritise this in a morning. I work 35 hours a week and have 2 primary aged children. So the night before I get everything ready, bags ready, uniform out, my clothes out, lunches made, stuff ready for after school activities. Then in the morning i get up 40 mins before anyone else to get myself ready. But some people might prioritise the rest and sleep over doing that, which is also fine. Just because someone looks great and well put together it doesn't mean all aspect of their lives are like that. Don't compare yourself to others, and do what suits you! I'm sure you're doing a great job.

With my first I was adamant I'd make an effort and I always stuck to it. With my second however, I've looked like Ms Trunchbull since I was pregnant

Just today a charity was bothering me at my front door. She said I looked very young to have a toddler.

I'm f*ck!ng 30

I never bothered with hair or makeup before kids, certainly not gonna start now! I wash hair in the evening then just brush it in the morning, job done.
