Do not put fluffles on a 90 wash or you'll kill them, the kushies ultra PUL won't appreciate it either - tbh I think it is a no no with them all as you may damage the elastic. If you just want to get them really clean before you use them have you thought of using a nappy sanitiser instead of the 90 wash (much safer bet IMO)

babyjjbaby · 07/02/2008 15:05

i washed them on a 60 with some vunegar and a prewash

NO!!!

It'll kill the elastic.

60 really is hot enough to kill anything you need to

Babyjj- Mothercare, John Lewis and Boots should all sell nappy soak of some kind in a small box. It might have a different name, but it's all the same stuff

babyjjbaby · 08/02/2008 13:31

thanks i will try and get some

nappy fresh is different to milton/napisan cos both of those can wreck the elastic in the nappies cos of chemicals in them. nappy fresh is an environmentally friendly one so it doesn't have any nasty chemicals that wreck your nappies.

Was thinking of the PHP Nappy Soak which is the biodegradable one - blue box. Bambino Mio is also usually stocked in Boots etc too. Should be about £2.50 a box.

nappyaddict · 08/02/2008 16:15

oh i've not seen the php one in the shops. is the bambino meo one biodregadable?

bobsmum · 08/02/2008 16:15

Hang on - will find a link

BroccoliSpears · 08/02/2008 16:19

Why would you want to?

Hospitals wash everything at 60. Imagine all the research that's gone into deciding what temperature is necessary to wash the communal bedding of variously ill people. Good enough for me.

bobsmum · 08/02/2008 16:19

Mothercare's own brand

Bambino Mio - pricey!!

PHP NAppy Soak - I used to buy this one in bulk from here

I think it's all the same stuff - white with wee blue bits, just re-packaged depending on who's selling it - the blurb is always the same.

But agree than Napisan and Milton will be harsher

I spoke to the Totsbots inventor lady once (v nice!) and she said a scoop of Vanish powder once in a while would be fine to give them a bit of a boost if they're looking a bit sad or grey after a while.

nappyaddict · 08/02/2008 16:56

does that php one whiten cos the nappyfresh one does.

nappyaddict · 08/02/2008 17:05

you can use oxy powders like vanish as long as they don't contain anything other than sodium carbonate. no perfumes or anything else.

nappyaddict · 08/02/2008 17:06

i buy nappy fresh from here

postage is £1.60 on top.

nappyaddict · 08/02/2008 21:32

our local oxfam has started selling it aswell and so do the local health food shop.
