Inconsistent dad it absent dad?

Do other mums agree that an inconsistent dad is more damaging to a child than an absent dad, is it easier to cut them out the picture now while DD is still a baby and doesn't know any difference, I always feel guilty however BD doesn't make the effort for her and is so inconsistent, he says he can't offered to see DD every week but then goes out other places and books a lads holiday 🤔 it goes well for a week and then he turns again and doesn't see her doesn't FaceTime her does it once and then never again I just can't let my guard down with this human.

Absent makes life much calmer. Don't exclude him immediately, make sure you have proof you did your best to facilitate contact first. He'll probably get bored and stop bothering after a while.

I was Told the opposite on here and that any dad is better than no dad even if he is a complete shit apparently!
