My DD is nearly 3 years old, since she turned two she will often lay down and curl into a ball and hold her hands on her crotch area. She doesn’t like anybody to watch her do this and will ask us not to look. I can’t think of anything like being anxiety induced or overwhelmed but she does this frequently. I’ve asked her why she does this, if it hurts, if she needs a wee etc but she says no. This can go on for one to maybe two hours! I’m not sure if it’s a relaxing comfort thing!
I raised it with the HV previously and they never got back to me. It’s like she’s tensing her body when she does this. She doesn’t have any other concerning behaviour.
Does anybody have similar experience with their little ones?
