Prep machine advice

I know this a really mixed of opinions. People swear by it, people hate it.

I've had my prep machine now 9 months. All fine, no issues. Bought it really as a first time mum, an item I read about and some people raved about so thought why not. Looks easy.

9 months down the line and I'm starting to dislike it. I keep getting worried mine is faulty as it's never showed the descale light but I've descaled it anyway. It's never showed the change filter light, so we've had the same filter as someone told me it will show once a certain amount of water as passed through it which I thought by 9 months it would of. I'm now putting an extra hot shot in here also because it's not seeming hot enough for my little girl.

Has anyone had issues from using the prep machine? Especially the filter light not turning on

No that doesn’t sound right at all. I would have changed the filter ages ago and also asked for a replacement machine. It’s been 9 months though and obviously baby is fine so I wouldn’t lose sleep about it! Presuming baby is at least 9 months old, then bottle feeds will decreasing now and I’m guessing the times are very predictable e.g. only before bed and naps, so I’d probably just chuck it now anyway and use the kettle.

Yeah same as pp, if baby is 9 mo then just use the kettle and the tap now.

Wouldn't worry about the machine as you said you cleaned it anyway.

I seem to remember mine took a lot longer to come up with 'change filter' with its original filter in and then once I changed it it came on again really quickly.

Baby is fine, just don't worry about it. Get a new one for the next babe if there is one.

Thank you ladies! I knew it wasn't right. And yes, she's on 4 bottles max now. Might just do the old fashion way and make them up all ready and prepped

I’ve bought a
prep machine for when my daughter stays with my grandson. How do
i store the machine between visits? Does the filter need to be kept wet or can I just empty and store until the next visit, but obviously do the clean cycle again before using.
