Stopping breastfeeding

My 21 month old has just suddenly stopped breastfeeding. He was having milk in the morning and before sleep and sometimes he'd wake in the night and I'd feed him back. It's been 4 days now and he is still refusing. I don't mind if he'd weaned by himself but what do I do about my boobs, I've been hand expressing a bit but woken up now and feel a bit uncomfortable. How do I stop my milk please?

It will stop by itself. It does take a while. Hand expressing just enough to relieve discomfort but leaving them alone if you’re ok is the right thing to do. If he was on 3 feeds a day and is 21 months I’d say you’re unlikely to run into serious problems like mastitis.
