How would you feel?

My DD is 2 years and a few months. Her dad and I are no longer together.
He has a child from previous relationship who is 7.
he still hasn’t told his other child they have a sister. I do speak about the other child to my DD mention their name etc as I don’t want to be part of the secrecy.

To me this is crazy behaviour-he is denying his kids having a relationship and missing out on time together. Also I don’t understand the mother (who does know about our DD).why would you allow this to be kept from your child. How would they trust you again if they knew you had been part of the secret?!?

thoughts?? Would you keep it from your child if you knew they had a sibling? Is the dad wrong from preventing them having a relationship?

My kids have an older sibling they don’t know about. Did you meet his child when you was together?

Singleparentlife · 28/01/2023 23:45

No the mother wouldn’t allow me to meet them and ex didn’t fight it.

Well I presume you chose to have a child with him regardless of him not allowing you to meet his child so why is it suddenly so important now you’ve broken up? I have no interest in my kids meeting their half sibling maybe the mum feels the same which it seems like she does? So they wouldn’t necessarily have a relationship anyway? how did he see the child when he was with you?

I don’t want to meet the child but just find it bizarre that he doesn’t want his kids to meet. Genuinely don’t get it. How can you keep a secret like that from your kids
