Taking 6 month old on holiday alone

I’m a single parent which I love and want to take baby away somewhere, maybe a staycation to start with, has anyone done this alone, and without a car. Bit nervous but hey!

I think it's easier without a car personally as I always find it so stressful when a baby is crying in the car and you can't safely stop and do anything.

I have done it before for a weekend, not a full week, might be easier to start with a weekend?
