Slapped Cheek / Baby / Rash

Hi all,

Baby daughter 6months has got slapped cheek syndrome.

She's got a really severe body rash with it. I've been to the Drs and they've said we will just have to ride it out for the next few weeks which I understand but she's really struggling.

I'm literally drenching her in E45 and she's still waking multiple times at night trying to scratch and much the same at nursery during the day.

Has anyone ever had a case really bad and or any advise on helping the rash irritation ease off?

Thankyou

id go to the pharmacist and ask to try an antihistamine?

fwiw when I’ve had rashes, adding cream all the time can make the rash feel itchier as it feels a bit damp. It might actually be irritating her more

Don't use e45, it can really irritate. The rash went down in a few days for my DD and I don't remember putting anything on it really. Ask the GP if she can have piriton, you'll need it on prescription for under 1.
