Child 15 months. You need to pee. Toilet is upstairs. Do you take them up with you or leave them downstairs while you go? (Baby gate is there of course)

I had a play pen (actually a travel cot) for exactly this reason.

Personally no I wouldn't without a playpen, because my child believed he was a mountain goat and even in a babyproofed room he would have climbed the sofa or the bookcase.

Mountain goat 😂😂 good one!

Yes - we used a playpen from when they were tiny onwards. Kept DT’s safe and gave the dog and cat a break

Chance would be a fine thing! Just turned 4yo and 18mo DDs still insist on coming to the loo with me every time. If they’d let me, I’d happily leave them downstairs so long as they couldn’t get at the oven etc.

As long as you either have a baby proofed room or a playpen. I was on one level and put mine in their cot when I needed the bathroom as both were very capable escape artists who could scale baby gates

I had a playpen at that age. Worth the expense for peace of mind.
