Growing Pains or Something Else??

Hi everyone 💕


My 6 year old son has been complaining of pain in his legs for a couple of weeks now and I’m wondering what is causing it?
I’m assuming it’s growing pains but is there anything else it could be? Has anyone experienced this before with their child/children?
At first I thought he was putting it on or exaggerating to avoid things like sports at school or making out like it’s worse than it really is, saying he can’t walk and trying to get the day off school.

However, now I’m not so sure. I’ve tried things like giving him calpol to ease the pain, a hot water bottle, massaging his legs etc but it’s made no difference.

Am I missing something? Or worried about nothing 😬 any advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Don’t want to panic you OP but think I’d keep a close eye on him for any other signs of illness. If doesn’t go away soon Id make a GP appt. Unfortunately have a young family member who we thought had growing pains in the legs but turned out to be a very serious illness. Hopefully your son will be fine.
