Help! Joining nursery waiting list when you don’t know how many days yet?

A lot of the nurseries around here have long waiting lists. I haven’t yet managed to agree with work now many days I’ll be doing when I go back.

How can you join a waiting list if you don’t have this information and might not for a while?

Thanks

Go for the most you need and then reduce down when you know. I did not follow my own advice and then ended up in a situation where i could only have 3 days but i had to wait another 5 months for the extra 2 days.

My nursery told me to put down 5 days if I didn’t know, and that I just needed to confirm a month before, which is their notice period for amending days.

Get your name down on every single one, with max you might need. Then as you know more you inform them.

Thanks! Sounds pretty unanimous.

Can they not withdraw your place if you cut back, say, five days to three?

Nope with waiting lists like theirs they will always always fill the days, trust me I'm one of the mums that took the random odd days someone else didn't want and made my work fit around it to get into our top rated nursery

we took 5 day then ended up only needing two. The nursery were fine with this. I changed jobs and reduced my hours massively.
