Antibiotics course for chest infection

Those of you who have been prescribed antibiotics for their babies chest infection how long was the course?

The Dr told me they were giving a course for a week and at the pharmacy they said it's 5-7 days and to use until the bottle runs out. The antibiotics have run out at 6 days a few days ago and he seems to be recovered no more mucous or coughing and his temperature is fine. Is 6 days of amoxicillin 125mg/5ml three times a day enough for a chest infection in your experience? I'm thinking I should get the rest prescribed.

If 6 days hasn't worked, an extra 1 day is not going to make a difference.

If he needs seeing again then get him checked again by the doctor.

It does seem to have worked, I've been told and have read that courses are usually 3-7 days so I just wanted to know in other parents experiences how long the courses have been for their babies, what is usually sufficient. I will definitely be taking him back if he still has symptoms just don't want anything to still be lingering silently for now.
