Car seat recommendations for a 5 year old?

I have my driving test in a few weeks and if I pass I want to get my DD a better car seat than the cheap joie high backed booster she currently has for emergencies. I don’t have loads of money but it’s definitely a priority for me as I’m more likely to crash as a new driver, so willing to stretch for the safest option. She’ll be 6 in a few months so not sure if the extended rear facing seats would be worth it or not as I think they only go up to age 6?
It’s a large ‘22 plate car, if that matters.

Thanks!

Age doesn't really matter - what height and weight is she? The ERF seats go by weight and height so depends how tall/heavy your DD is. ERF seats last up to 25kg (some can go to 36kg I believe but I can't remember which)! And you'll probably need top tether points in your car too - so check car manual about car seats.l and fitting.

Joie Bold if your budget is tight, maybe?

Or BeSafe, Avionaut, Axkida and Britax are good ERF brands too but much more pricey!

Good luck with your driving test!

What's her height and weight?

Why are you more likely to crash as a newly qualified driver? I've never driven better than in those terrified first few months on the road. Hyper aware and exacting in my movements.
