Become bloody awful. Screaming, sleeping no longer than two hours, miserable. Nothing like the first 11 weeks. Is this it now? Will he return to how he was?

Generally the first 3 weeks are pretty chill and then they tend to ‘wake up’ and need more interaction, sleep less and be more awake when they wake at night. It kind of goes on like that for a bit!

3 months not 3 weeks

Swiftswatch · 22/01/2023 14:01

Mine slept like an angel for the first 11 or so weeks too and then largely never slept for longer than an hour or two until 10 months except the odd ‘good’ night or two.
It was hell but then she started sleeping through.

IMO the first 3 months is easiest!

I used to placate myself by inventing an old wives' tale that if you had a non-sleeping shouty baby, that meant you'd have a easy teenager. And if you had an 'easy' baby then you'd have a very tempestuous and difficult teenager.
DC are grown now. I won't tell you if it came true or not.

Yep. All normal. Mine settled down around 6 months

VivaVivaa · 22/01/2023 14:22

3-6 months is a common time to have fussy phase(s). They ‘wake up’ from being newborns and become a lot more aware of the world. They fight sleep and become more easily overtired and overstimulated. They become less interested in feeding and sleeping because everything (like trying to roll over and sit) is too exciting. A lot calm down at around 6 months (although some don’t looking at you DS). I can’t promise sleep will automatically get better though without intervention.

My baba slept through from 11 weeks till 8 months. Started to wake up once in the night. Would always go back down after a feed. Now back to sleep through at 9 and half months. Guess I got lucky with my son. Good sleeper like his mama. Just loves it and the boobie. Boobie monster
