We have 3 kids and looking at a long haul holiday abroad in May 2024 when kids will be 6, 4 and 2. Are we crazy?!
For context we would be travelling to see my brother and his wife and staying with them. We have air miles so flights would be cheap and accommodation free - so just cost of food and excursions etc. plus we’d probably treat B and SIL to dinner or something.
The flight time is around 6 hours, daytime on the way there and overnight on the way back. Time difference is 3 hours I think. So it’s longer than Europe but not by much and not as far as the US.
All kids would have their own seats as over 2 and I’m fairly sure the older two would be content with iPads and snacks for the flight. But the 2yo is an unknown challenge, I’ve no idea what he’s be like. However we’d need to book our flights in May this year to get the reward flights. in theory we could wait until 2025 when they’d be 7, 5 and 3, maybe that would be better - it’s just a very tempting idea for a nice sunny break for next year 🤣
Any advice welcomed from people who’ve flown longer distance with younger kids!!
