What to pack for baby on long haul flights?

Flying to New Zealand with a 7.5 month baby. It will be a long trip - something like 13hr flight - 3 hr layover- 10 hr flight - 6 hr layover - 2hr flight.

Any tips on what to take to make the journey less painful? Obviously a lot of bottles and formula and a pouch of two of baby food but what about the less obvious stuff? I do have the tendency to overpack but I feel like whatever I don't pack for this trip will be the one thing we need. For those that have flown with a baby of similar age what where the most useful things and what did your regret not having in hand luggage?

How much of a pain is it to take the formula through security? I'd feel more confident knowing we have it already rather than relying on collecting it post security.

It's been a long time since I travelled with a baby, but my top tip is a change of clothes for the parents. Dd decided to vomit down me just as we had boarded the flight many years ago!

Ditto! 1 hour into a long haul. So clothes for you too!

Lots of little snacks.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely bring some clothes for me too but there’s a limit to how much we can fit in a carry on! My DD is a vomity baby already and it’s pretty much inevitable that I will spend most of the trip with some vomit on me unless she improves by then.

What sort of snacks are good for a 7.5 month baby and also plane friendly? She’s not eating much yet at 6.5 months.

Anything like this - take wipes for messy fingers! (And avoid any orange ones as they always seem much worse ;-))
