My 18mo DD is currently having some epic tantrums. It's usually about something she wants but can't communicate to me what it is yet, she has a few words but she definitely says less than my son did at the same age. Anyway, her being my 2nd I'm used to dealing with tantrum phase, what I don't understand is her behaviour to calm down, she basically needs to hold a variety of different objects and gather as much stuff up in her arms whilst being cuddled by me as possible. Today she had a cuddly cat, bunny, octopus, sheep, a muslin, her snowsuit and a duplo car and all of it was essential in her opinion as in if one of them was taken away she'd scream. It's specific things too, not just anything. Anyone else experienced similar? Is this just a phase or has she got something sensory going on? I can't understand her!
