Arm control in 3 month old?

Hi all

My Baby is 3 months old on Tuesday. She seems to be developing well, although she doesn’t seem to have control of her arms fully. She’s very slowly getting there. She tries to put them in her mouth and can for a second or so, but she doesn’t seem to have the strength to keep them there. She does try to hit out at toys and grab them etc. but I’m concerned she can’t hold them in her mouth yet. Has anyone been through anything similar with a 3 month old and all was ok? Starting to worry now :(

I think this is really normal - 3 months is still really young. If she is hitting/reaching for toys that sounds absolutely fine.

My DS started teething at 3.5 months and I remember it being a nightmare because he couldn't keep anything - including his hand - in his mouth to chew on!

My baby is 5 months and only this week he is starting to have a bit more control of his arms in terms of reaching out for hanging toys etc. he has been putting his hands in his mouth for quite some time though. I don't think at 3 months they have much control other than flailing them around lol
