Unreasonable coparent

My ex partner and father of our 3 5 year old twins will only see the boys on his terms.

He won't have them if I want to go away on holiday, but he can go away and do what he wants whenever he wants. I feel like I'm still living my life by his terms. I hardly get any free time with my new partner and its making things really difficult. Any advice on how to handle this situation would be welcome

I'd tell him to come up with a full schedule for the year of visitation that allows both of you fair access and breaks or just assume he is not in any way a co-parent and you're doing this alone. Don't let him bully you, if he wants to see them he has to do it at your convenience or not at all.
