Sling for an 8 month old??

I've got the kari me, which is terrific! Ds has all his naps in it facing inwards and loves facing out when awake. But I'd like one that's easy to put him into on my back but still feels cozy (i.e. not a backpack type) or one that feels comfy on my hip. Any advice??

do you know the ergo baby carrier?

Have you used it?? I have the baby bjorn as well which I find really heavy on my neck. How's this one?

I haven't used it myself but I have heard from many many people who know about these things that it is very good.

We've got an ERGO, would thoroughly recommend it. Very flexible, light & comfortable, both for child and wearer.

Worth every penny.

How does it work? It's a bit unclear from the website. Does it adjust to one strap for hip wearing?

I have an Ergo and love love love it. I've only used it on my front so far, though (DD is 10.5 months but only around 8.5kg).

I haven't tried the hip carry yet (yes, you make one long strap) because I have the straps how I like them for the front hold (n.b. - what worked best for me was having them let out more than I thought would be necessary) and it would be a bit of a faff changing it.

There's a thing called a Mei Hip by Ellaroo that is a dedicated hip carrier - I like the look of it, but haven't tried one.

I have a mei tai, its brilliant. kozycarrier.com is a great website for help putting it on. dd2 is 9mo and i have no intention of stopping it.

im very interested in slings, but dont know what to get
ds is 5.5m and 10kilos, but he is very clingy, loves being held. i would love sling that gives my hands free, and still have my baby close.
what would you recommend?
thnx

diva, i would say not to get a baby bjorn as with an older baby it starts to hurt. I would definitely get a back carry one like the ergo or the kozy carrier because you can really get on with things around the house when you have it on!

my dd loves to sleep in it.

the other alternative is a wrap style sling, ive never used one but i have a friend who makes them out of all sorts of brilliant fabrics.
