How many nights feeds does your 6mo have?

Just curious how often your 6mo wakes for milk during the night in a 7pm-7am period? Really interested to hear what's normal and if weaning plays a part in it....

1... around 3am. Most nights but not always

None. Mine didn’t have a night feed from about 10w. I don’t think that’s common though, and I know I was very lucky! Has always been a great night sleeper, but never a good napper!

None for me too. He hadn’t since about 3-4 months old. Sleeps 7am - 7am and is formula fed

Zero, then teething pain kept waking him and he had to be fed back to sleep, so was doing 6-12 a night.

I finally night weaned at 8mo and after a week or two we returned to zero

Mine is almost 9 months - 3 night feeds between 7 pm and 7 am. Nightmare!

Also FF for reference

Mine was a very predictable 11pm and 2am. Don't think she ever slept through till 7 though 😭🤣

None. She stopped waking for a night feed a week before 6 months so probably not due to weaning. Before she took 6 x 5 oz bottles over 24 hours with one of them being a night feed at around 1 am. She started taking 6oz bottles and 5 of these during the day seems to be enough (so still doing 30 oz per 24 hr). Only taking a small amount of food so far.

FF seems to be a common thread! DS is EBF and wakes 1-2 times a night around midnight and then about 3am. If he only wakes once its about 3-4am ish. DH wants to night wean him but was a bit worried he was hungry as he's a big lad and straight back to sleep...

I'm by no means an expert but I think 6 months is quite little for a BF baby to night wean. Is there any reason your husband wants to? How are you finding it?

From your original post, he sounds a reasonable enough sleeper. I BF and found it easier to just wake up and chuck her on my boob for 10 minutes than fight against it. But I'm not advocating that if you're really struggling?

SamanthaVimes · 19/01/2023 09:02

Mine is just 6mo, ebf and has 2 feeds most nights, sometimes 3. I thought that was pretty good as his sister was on 6-8 at the same age! I suppose it all depends on what your expectations are

Krakenes · 19/01/2023 20:31

Mine was bf and still slept through from 10w. I really think it’s just the baby - nothing you can really do. Mine was a chuncker though and my friend’s two (bf for 1.5yrs each) also slept through by 3m (hers were also massive babies!).
