Is 15 months old too old to start makaton?

DS is 15 months and his childminder mentioned the other day that she has been doing some makaton with him teaching him to sign thank you and explained a bit about it. I had never heard much about it or knew what it was really but I thought it sounded great, as did DP and we would really like to learn more about it and try it at home too. Just wondering if I should of started much earlier than 15 months? Have I left it a bit late? If this is something you done with your DC what did you think and what kind of signs did you start with?

Not at all it was taught at my kids school in the 90s and my grandson learns it at his school.

Never too late! Love Makaton. The more words my little has though the less signing the little will use though but I still keep it up.

'Where' is a good sign to start, along with 'eat', 'drink' and 'finished/all gone'.

Ancient Chinese proverb: "The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is now."
