I’ll go first.. the mannequin at m&s wasn’t wearing socks. Very distressing apparently 😅

He was helping me unpack the shopping, handed me a tin of fruit, then had a fit when I accepted it from his hand 😅

Soapnotshowergel · 16/01/2023 18:20

Took her gloves off and then had a massive cry about having cold hands.

rainyskylight · 16/01/2023 18:39

Not a meltdown but a lot of tears and despair. Accidentally broke her banana into two pieces. Then apologised at my grave error and tried to give her a fresh unbroken one. She ended up with both (they were small) which she ate slowly and silently, red faced and blotchy whilst giving me side eye.

Because the scooter won’t scooter in mud and how dare I try to move it to the path

HaggisWurst · 16/01/2023 19:27

We didn't have a proper meltdown today but he complained quite dramatically that daddy didn't lift him up in his high chair for dinner and that he forgot to ask for his afternoon snack.

OneStepOneStumble · 16/01/2023 19:30

She wanted to get out of the pram and walk, but also wanted to be in the pram and pushed 🤷🏻‍♀️

WhatsErFace2020 · 16/01/2023 19:35

In no particular order, todays examples;

  • because I know how to whistle
  • he doesn’t want to have a ‘dirty’ beard when he’s a man
  • I wouldn’t let him use grown up scissors to cut cheese 🤷🏼‍♀️

this is all in the two hour window of nursery pick up and bed time btw. In fairness to him, he is always very tired on Mondays and his mum (me) is a bit of a prick…

She was really devastated that I couldn’t immediately identify the song she wanted on the play list. The clue was “swan” (it wasn’t swan lake.)

I know how she feels. I have days like that.

Duttercup · 16/01/2023 19:39

I found her crying on the bottom stair saying "I'm Sleeping Beauty, I AM Sleeping Beauty" over and over.

Alright, mate, noone said you weren't!?

NuffSaidSam · 16/01/2023 19:47

Because I wouldn't let her walk really slowly, right up the middle of a large flight of stairs at an underground station at rush hour. She expected the commuters to part like the red sea around her.

Because she wanted to keep her coat on when we got back from the shop.
I said fine.
Then SHE took it off.
Then she was furious because she'd wanted to keep her coat on!

AlwaysColdHands · 16/01/2023 20:03

Because she has a brain in her head. Get it out! 😬

Because George's hat blew away into the tree on Peppa Pig

miniworry · 16/01/2023 20:12

We had a meltdown today because she wanted to play shopkeeper and didn't want me to give her the money, she wanted to give it to me. If only this was real life...

mauvish · 16/01/2023 20:13

Not today, but in the past, the funniest when when she realised that her shadow was copying her. Then when she had a kicking, fist-thrashing, head banging tantrum about that, the shadow copied her doing all this too. We were on a beach on a sunny day so there was no escaping the shadow!

She was apoplectic. I still laugh about it now.

I love these threads! Not- so- fond memories of DS as a toddler screaming at the bus driver, "BUS DRIVER! YOU'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY! STOP! I WANT TO GO THAT WAY!" whilst the bus people smiled politely.

chocolatebuttonlover · 16/01/2023 20:16

Because I wouldn't let transfer wet cat food from one bowl to the other... and then dared to suggest she might have a bath

Cuppasoupmonster · 16/01/2023 20:19

I wouldn’t let her eat an Oxo cube. It was hers, apparently.

Also because I started to peel her satsuma rather than psychically knowing she wanted the choice of doing it herself, something she has never wanted to do before now.

whistling one reminds me of a peppa pig episode 😅

I had buttered her toast upside down. Oh the screaming, and then I wouldn't let her brush her teeth with two toothbrushes.

GrannyOfDragons · 16/01/2023 21:14

Grandad cut off the green end of the carrot he was going to cut with his plastic knife, as he wanted to cut off the green end. He insisted on choosing another carrot to cut. It had no green end.

Passanotherjaffacake · 16/01/2023 21:15

Wouldn’t let her add pear purée to her yoghurt to sweeten it. she had some in the morning but that didn’t count.

yesterday was a five tears day. Exhausting!

Elmo230885 · 16/01/2023 21:27

Because I wouldn't turn the car around on the motorway to follow the sun!

Taenia · 17/01/2023 08:40

The other day.....because I dared to give her pasta instead of a sandwich at lunch..

..and then I dared to pick her up when she asked to be picked up...
...and even worse I then put her down again. (To be fair this was after nursery and she was very tired)

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 17/01/2023 08:58

This morning we played a fun game (of her invention) where she was Mummy, i was a big sister, and her big sister was baby.

dropped “baby” off at school - no problem.
got to nursery to drop “mummy” off and it transpired that she thought she would really be going to work whilst i went to school. Oh, the tears.
