DS is 1yo just turned. He started pulling himself up 2 weeks ago and he always does it now pulls to stand

doesnt stand independently yet

I tried the Clark’s pre walkers on him as I’ve never put shoes on him and want him to be used to them and he didn’t like them

he didn’t crawl or stand for a bit in them he really noticed them

is this normal? Will he get used to shoes eventually??

I wouldn't bother with shoes until he's walking outside. Babies get a lot of sensory feedback from their feet and shoes spoil that experience. Until they need them for safety purposes shoes are unnecessary.

He doesn't need to be wearing shoes yet! He needs to be able to use his feet properly to learn how to walk without being restricted by shoes.

My DS is 15 months old and has been walking for the past month. I got him first shoes from Clarks 3 weeks ago, he screamed the shop down and when we got home he sat on the floor looking at his feet in horror and refusing to move. I thought I'd left it too late and he was never going to adapt to shoes now after so long barefoot or socks. Turns out he got a bit more used to them after a couple of days and now he knows they mean going out he brings them to me constantly and tries to put them on 😂 He is obsessed with everyone's shoes. I would wait it out a bit for shoes or if you're keen to keep trying pre-walking them just give it a bit of time. I still keep him barefoot or socks when possible as, as the previous poster says, it's much better for them developmentally. Soon he'll need shoes all the time and will never look back I'm sure!

He's only just pulling to stand and not even walking yet, it could be months until he actually takes steps and even then he won't need shoes unless he is walking outside.

Keep him barefooted as long as possible, it's much better for his development and his coordination.

Thank you for the responses I was panicking about him being new to shoes and what if he doesn’t take to them but by the sounds of it he will when he’s properly walking and has to wear them out
