17 m.o. vomiting: Strep A or just a bug?

Would appreciate advice as its Sunday and cant ring our GP.

My 17 month old son was sick this afternoon after acting a bit off his normal happy self earlier in the day. He was violently ill and hysterical, then calmed down and slept for almost 2 hours. When he woke up he was listless, wanted to be held, crying. Then he asked for some food which we foolishly gave him. No fever or anything. An hour later more vomiting and immediately wanted to sleep again. He's gone to bed and it's 5:30. He's still wanting to nurse (I am still breastfeeding him).

Earlier in the week, we were notified that there was a case of Strep A/scarlet fever at his nursery, but he had already been there so it was too late not to send him. Could this be that, or is it just a bug? So far no fever, no rash etc.

Is it ok to wait for morning for medical help? Our local A and E is way over stretched and I dont think his symptoms warrant going but I'm not sure (we spent 11 hours in the waiting room there overnight last winter). Is there anything I should be doing for him?
Thanks.

Keep breast feeding him to keep him hydrated, maybe top up with sips of water in between feeds if he will take it. Keep an eye on his temperature, but if he's not got a fever it sounds more like a tummy bug than Strep A, hopefully he bounces back from it quickly.
