C section scar not healing

I had a planned c section 6 weeks ago and developed an infection at week 4 in the middle of the scar. I also had part of the stitch stick out like a hoop shape where infection was. I had a 7 day course of antibiotics which seemed to have cleared it or so I thought…

The stitch that stuck out came out today and I noticed the previous infected area started to look a bit red again. I am feeling really down as thought it would have healed by now.

Have attached picture. Does it look like the scar is opening up?

Hi OP, I’d maybe ring your doctors surgery a call and get them to have a look and keep an eye on it.

My C-section scar opened up after an infection. The Nurse at my surgery told me it’s quite common. It eventually healed but it was scary at the time

Hi, not sure if you still use this thread (or will see this message) but how long did it take to heal 100%? I’m 4 months post partrum on Thursday and I have been infected since 1 week after baby was born. I had an emergency c section (my second sections. Had no problems with the first) I have had 4 rounds of antibiotics and a lot of crying lol. I’m honestly at my wits end with it and just looking to other mums for answers!
