Experience of sick bugs

If it's not clear from this message, I have terrible health anxiety, increased by DD suffering an injury at birth.

DD is 3.5. She's never had a sick bug. Yesterday morning she kept saying her tummy hurt. She ate her breakfast albeit slower than normal, no temp, no diarrhoea, no sickness, went to Preschool. Was fine there, made them aware. No issues.

She came home, ate her dinner. Then an hour later said her tummy hurt on & off. Went to sleep at 7pm. 1am she starts throwing up all of her dinner. Seems surprisingly ok though in herself after initial shock/upset. We go watch a film for an hour, she has an ice lolly. Back to bed, 3am throws up the ice lolly.

She's woken up, seems alert, no temp. She wants milk, I've said no, we will have to keep it bland today.

Obviously just hoping it's a bug but my health anxiety is doing my head in & finding it hard to keep in check. I suppose I find it odd she said her tummy was hurting for roughly 18 hours before she was actually sick, is this normal?

Sorry it sounds so silly, I've just never had this before.

I also just saw an article on Dr Google saying being sick at night randomly with no temp can be a sign of a brain tumour.. honestly I just need to step away don't I.

Just a stomach bug.

Yep, stomach bug. Step away from Google.

Keep it bland for a bit. BRAT diet. Hydrate.

Thanks all. She's fine in herself today so far although has mentioned her throat is sore & it does look a little red. Also mentioned a headache yesterday so some sort of bug maybe. Bloody bugs, everywhere.

Me again...!

So this morning at around 2am, DD had an upset stomach. This was 48 hours after the sickness episode, & she had done poohs in between & they were 'normal'. She's been fine all day today, but it gets to bed time & she says her tummy hurts several times over. She's very windy too, farting away in her sleep! I gave her some probiotic powder today. Sorry to sound so bloody naive but is this to be expected? 48 hours with no symptoms after the sickness to then start up with diarrhoea seems odd (then again we have never had a sick bug before!) she's eaten normally today, last diarrhoea was at 8am although I suspect we could be up in the night. Been playing, not mentioned her tummy so I was surprised she's then reverted back to that this evening. I realise how pathetic this all sounds but I'm feeling a bit helpless & no one to turn to to ask for experience. Thank you.

I don’t know why but my children are always worse on the night. They’ll be ok in the day then wake in the night again with sickness or diarrhoea.

Think it’s quite normal.
