Poor baby and poor you. My DS is now 17 and I can remember those awful days when he was poorly and I felt completely helpless and worried sick about him.

i’m sure you’re absolutely terrified of Step A. Please, please try to remember that statistically you’re son is going to be absolutely fine. Especially as he’s on antibiotics. He’s your baby, he’s sick and it’s the middle of the night - no wonder you’re feeling vulnerable, all that worry and very little sleep. Try and get some rest before he wakes up. Sending you love, understanding and support.

It is understandable you are worried but a child with medication and a worried/alert mum is in a good place - because you will ask for help if anything changes. Focus on caring for him by following all NHS advice on e.g. fluids.

I think making notes is soothing, then you know they have e.g. slept enough, drunk enough. You can monitor temp a few times a day too if you wish.

Alternate the calpol with nurofen. That was the advice we were given a few weeks ago with tonsillitis.
