Milestones advice for worried ftm

My 10.5 month old twins have their 12month review with the HV tomorrow.

I am worried after reading the questions that they aren’t walking or cruising on furniture. They have only just started to try and pull themselves up and have never crawled.

Looking for some advice or reassurance

It will be fine.
Neither of mine crawled before 11 months.

I remember my daughter's 12 month check. She scored high on everything except gross motor skills. She was literally in the black section scoring basically nothing.

Her development was mental first. She understood everything being said to her. The Health Visitor asked me if we had any questions and DD looked her dead in the eye and shook her head. HV was a bit freaked out tbh lol.

Children develop at their own pace. Don't worry about it

Absolutely normal! All the babies I’ve known have learned to walk around 11 to 13 months or older. I knew one who just bum-shuffled until well past 12 months.

My DD crawled at 11 months and walked at 16 months. She's more tortoise than hare, but she gets there.

It's not that common to be walking by 12 months I don't think. By all means some can, but it's based on averages. So a good chunk wont be able to still x

My dd had only just started crawling when we had our 12 month appointment which was done at 10 months. HV said it was fine that she was not cruising or trying to walk yet, just offered to send over some activities to encourage standing if I wanted.

Thank you for all your replies 💕
The girls are great probably advanced in all other areas so hopefully I am just worried for nothing

So we had our visit and she’s happy overall with the girls… tho they are slightly delayed with gross motor (not crawling and not walking yet ) everything else they are where they should be if not a little a head.

she said we should encourage them to start crawling …. Any ideas?

Put the TV remote / your keys / your phone / anything else they aren't allowed just out of their reach.

But even with that, don't feel that you have to do anything particular. They will get there

@Twizbe Thank you
our Hv has said if they aren’t walking by 14 months we’ll see if there’s anything she can suggest before having to refer us

I wouldn't worry until 18 months tbh.

Both mine crawled at 11 months. Eldest was walking by 16 months, youngest by 17 months.

They are 6 and 4 now and you'd never know they were a tad slower on the physical development.
