When to put name down for nursery?

Hi everyone,

Some advice please. My daughter is 2 and a half. When should I put her name down for a nursery that's attached to a school? I always forget what age they can go! Been a long time since I last did this.

Look at your council website, they will have the application process for your area it varies between councils.

I've just done this for my son - he's 2 next week. I thought it was wayyyy too early but my Mum said about it, so I looked into it. We know what nursery we want him to go to (also attached to a primary school) and they said he can start the term after he turns 3, so over a year away but I can apply for his place now. They said the longer they hold the child's details of intended start date, the easier they can plan ahead. That's probably very specific to the nursery I've chosen, but perhaps contact the one you have in mind and see what they say :)
