Toddler hair worries

Hi,

My daughter was born with a lot of hair for a newborn. It grows very quickly and is very curly so it looks like she has lots (she’s only 2 and she’s already needed 5 hair cuts). However, there are patches on her head where there is no hair at all (it has never grown). Her hair line at the back of her head and round her ears is very high and unusual.

when her hair is down it looks like she has loads as it is so curly. However when her hair is wet or in a pony tail, you can clearly see patches of her scalp where there is no hair (and no baby hairs growing). When tied in a pony tail her hair line at the back is extremely high.

has anyone else’s child had this patchy hair situation? I’m just wondering if hair will eventually grow in the patches or not. She had quite bad cradle cap when she was a baby so I’m really worried the cradle cap has damaged the hair follicles or something. I thought most of their hair is supposed to come in by 2 so I’m a bit confused.

many thanks!
