9 month old wakes as soon as I set her into cot

How long do you have her asleep for before you put her into the cot? If straight away, try waiting at least 10 mins so she is in a deeper sleep.

Maybe not long enough, I'd say 5 mins

Leave her asleep longer, warm her cot with a hot water bottle,take it out first though before putting her in. Put her in slowly, keep your arms around her, gently move away keeping one hand on her and SLOOOOWLY remove your hand.
