Sleep

I am truly at a loss at what to do here. After months of co sleeping, I did a variation of the Ferber method a while back with my now 9 month old and had success whereby he was getting himself to sleep with no crying or very little which was fab.

He had a period of really bad teething and this has all gone out the window. He’s also incredibly attached to me. Peak separation anxiety and now a sleep regression too. The last few nights I’ve had to sit on the floor next to the cot holding his hand until he falls asleep or just given up and brought him back into bed. All the progress we made I feel has been lost.

What can I do? I’m so tired during the day and so is he which is really impacting his mood.

I find with mine that although he generally sleeps well, there are periods of a week or 10 days where he seems to wake up or struggle to settle. So it won’t last! It’s likely just a little phase. Things like teething or a bug also throw him off his normal sleep. It’s hard though!! If he’s teething I give calpol or nurofen baby sirop, I find they help and he’ll usually sleep through after that. Don’t assume this pattern now will stick - it won’t! X
