How much formula when on 3 meals?

DS is 6 months and on 3 meals. He was weaned early on paediatrician advice due to severe reflux and GERD. So he is kind of “ahead” of some other babies in terms of the amount he eats for his age.
He is having a wide variety of foods fruit veg proteins dairy etc. and until now he has still been having 5 x 6oz bottles. 7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm and then 1 night feed but he never finishes that so maybe around 28oz per day plus all the food. This week he has started to refuse some milk and I know food before 1 is just for fun etc but when I’ve researched this the NHS website shows that babies on 3 meals only need around 21oz milk per day.
So im wondering when your babies started to drop some milk did you reduce the amount in the bottles or just reduce the amount of feeds?
I’m thinking maybe I should just give him 3 bottles in the day and 1 night feed because I am throwing away formula at the moment when he isn’t drinking it!
How much formula in oz are your babies having that are on 3 meals and how regularly? I worry about letting him drop some milk but surely I can’t expect him to have solids plus a full milk intake for a baby that isn’t on solids iyswim.

Hey,
My baby started dropping her milk feeds as soon as I introduced her to solids at about 6/7 months.
She would refuse maybe 2/3 out of the 5 bottles she was offered a day. So I had to get a bit creative and start mixing formula into foods.
She loved things like weetabix, custard, angel delight, scrambled egg, mash, cheese pasta etc.. you can mix up a bottle of formula and use it as you would milk to make sure baby keeps getting the nutrients.

My health visitor said that babies often get picky with milk once they try real food and not to worry as if they are hungry they will eat and just make sure your offering. If they refuse no problem. 😊

My 8mo is on 4x 8oz bottles a day but tbh probably could be on 2x 8oz and 2x 7oz as he probably averages 28oz a day.

He started solids at just over 5m but we are only on 2x a day still. 90% of it ends up in his bib scoop anyway so he's probably actually taking in much less that your little one.
