14.5 week old lost interest in morning bottle...

As the title says really, she just doesn't seem to want her morning bottle anymore 🤷🏼‍♀️ she will have one about 4am (5-6oz) and then doesn't want another for what seems like absolutely hours ! Is this too early to be dropping a bottle ? She is a good weight, hasn't been weighed since she was about 6 weeks, weighed 11lbs and was on the 75th centile then.

I'm just worried she should be having more still at this age ? Any experience of the same thing anyone ?

Thanks

Yes! My daughter will happily wait an hour or so after waking before she has a feed. As long as she has the total recommended daily allowance, then don't stress about it.

Thank you. I've no idea what she weighs so not sure exactly what she should be having... but on average she's having around 30oz in 24 hours

Hi @davegrohll my bubba is 14.5 weeks tommorrow 😁 she has a bottle about 5isham then when her next feed is due she'll only have a little bit, she goes hours not having a full bottle.
She does have about 120mls in the evening after her bath and 3 feeds at night about 100 or 120 mls but in the day not alot.
I'm not worried tbh but I'm monitoring it and will see how she gets on in the coming weeks.
Hope the above helps x

Hi @Summer2424 have you found this is a recent thing ?? My girl has been so fussy with her bottles the last two weeks! Half the time she doesn't want them, or seems to want them and then cries! With no obvious reason...
maybe it's the age they're at?

Hi @davegrohll yes same it's been recent, in the day when i feed my baby girl she literally wriggles, kicks, cries, puts her fists in her mouth along with the bottle also in her mouth 😁 i eventually give up 🤦‍♀️
I think it's their age too x

davegrohll · 11/01/2023 07:21

@Summer2424 I'm getting the same things, not for every bottle but can guarantee it will happen for at least 1 throughout the day, it's so frustrating as there doesn't seem to be a reason for it !

Yesterday she went every 4 hours but that meant she only had 25oz over the 24hour period 😕

Have you tried changing the teat size??
I found when my baby was fussing at the bottle this was the cause.
Also my little one never had the recommended amount it says on the tin (breastfed babies you don't know how much they're getting) as long as baby is growing and is satisfied that's good.

davegrohll · 11/01/2023 09:47

Yeah we changed to a number 2 and she is still fussy lol she's getting better than she was it's just the morning bottle really, she just doesn't want it...

If she doesn't want it she's doesn't. If she's content, growing as normal then it's fine.
As I said my baby never took the recommended amount on the back of the tub. She was
Around the 26oz per 24 hour mark at the most.
