So my LO is 3 weeks tomorrow, he is formula fed and feeds plenty + has plenty of wet nappies so he isn't dehydrated.
He does poo daily also, however When he poops he strains quite a bit, squirms and grunts. Sometimes cries to get it out. I do end up helping him occasionally.
This is what it looks like.
Its not rock hard, more of a clay like consistency when I squish it (sorry for the tmi) I'm making bottles up exactly how it should be made. He has only ever had these kind of poos.
Colour looks fine too so I just don't know. Midwife said its normal and he is getting used to having bowel movements but it just doesn't seem right to me.

That looks very solid for such a young baby.

Hmm.. bottle fed my baby from birth and he did squirm a lot until about 11 weeks doing poos - it does take them a while to get used to it.. but it was never that solid

Not a medical expert but it does look quite solid for a baby that age to me
