Using Bumbles - previously fine but now lots of leaks

My 16 month old ds has been in Bumbles for about 1 year with no problems. Over the last few weeks we have started getting leaks onto his clothes, sometimes just an hour since last change and nappy is saturated. I have 2 theories:

  1. Since I stopped BF 3 weeks ago he is now having about 200ml cows milk twice a day. Maybe he is taking more fluid on board than when he was BF?
  2. Maybe something has happened to the nappies to reduce their absorbency?
Anyone got any ideas?

Last week for no apparent reason my DD2 started weeing a lot more (with hardly any increase in fluid intake ), now she is back to normal thankfully.

If the nappies are soaked through they are unlikely to be less absorbant I should think. Sounds like he might be weeing a bit more than before due to drinking a bit more.

The leaks could be due to the extra wetness or to a change in his shape, problem with the wraps or the nappies. There are lots of possibilities.

What wraps are you using? If I change my DD very often I can get away with using 'lesser' able wraps but usually I have to rely on motherease to keep the leaks in.

You can boost your bumbles really easily and cheaply with supermarket 'value' microfibre dishcloths - they will make quite a difference to the absorbancy at 89p for 3

How is the wrap - do you need to go up a size maybe? Using bumbles I have always needed this reminder... - you'd think I would have learnt by now

If he is just taking on more fluid try boosting as big bad mouse says.

Have always used motherease with bumbles & even when nappy is saturated they don't leak unless not covering nappy properly or getting too small

sometimes around that age they start to do power wees, they hold onto it for longer and do it all in one go which means the nappy struggles to abbsorb it quickly enough - could that be what has happened?

Thanks for your advice, have used this as an excuse to buy some more cute wraps online in the next size up!

An excuse to buy cute wraps is always a good thing

Hope they do the business
