Hi!

my little girl has just turned one. We gave her eggs throughout weaning from 6 months with no issues, however one day at 10 months we gave her scrambled egg of lunch and she threw up nonstop for the rest of the day. I haven’t gave her any eggs since in fear of the exorcist returning, but I’ve just realised I’ve gave her egg products/foods containing eggs like Mayo & homemade cake with no throwing up?

Am I just being overly cautious or was that day just a wee off day for her stomach?

thanks! X

She probably just had an off tummy that day.

My LO was the same at 10 months with scrambled eggs but came up in hives. Took him to Dr and they tested for all other allergies too. He couldn’t have egg until he was about 4 (we did the egg ladder) and now he is fine with all egg containing products he just still has a slight reaction if he eats egg in its pure form.
If the puking was the only symptom it may be coincidental but I would just check with your Dr for your peace of mind. That way they can do a quick allergy test and you’ll know if you need to avoid anything, and how to introduce the allergens in a safer way 😊

Almost certainly a coincidence. Try giving her a small amount again.

My son was able to eat cooked egg but not raw egg.
He grew out of it about 5 years old.
All his mouth swelled up though, he wasn't vomiting.

Thanks everyone! I gave her some yesterday for lunch and no vomiting!
we’re now on a ? Dairy allergy train for 6 weeks - feel sorry for the poor girl as cheese is her life!
