Should I be worried? Someone’s it’s loads, sometimes less. He was quite large when born and still seems chunky but obviously don’t want him to be losing weight! If it’s reflux do you just live with it if you can or should you always try and treat it? It started about 3 weeks ago

Some babies are just sicky babies. Have you asked your health visitor? I'm assuming you have the standard GP 8 week checkup soon? Definitely worth bringing up then.

Our baby now nearly 7 months is like this. Sounds like reflux and is so common. We tried to treat it with baby gaviscon but it just made him painfully constipated and made no difference to the vomiting. We've just learnt to live with it now with the hope he'll grow out of it. Speak to the dr if concerned, they keep a closer eye on DS weight in case he is vomiting so much he is dropping weight (which he never has).

Are you breast feeding or is it formula ? When I started giving my baby formula he threw up everytime - turned out he was allergic to diary . This was projectile vomiting though.

It could be cows milk protein allergy- but you need to speak to a GP about it. We had that with our now 9 month old and she was struggling to put weight on properly for the first 8 weeks and changing her powder helped - but still it's not the sort of thing to self diagnose. It's definitely not normal being big sick after every feed and don't let midwives fob yoh off saying it's just "positing" if you know it is more significant than that

StarInTheHeavens · 08/01/2023 20:43

Sounds normal. Mine puked after every meal, sometimes more, sometimes less.

RcRq · 08/01/2023 20:45

@StarInTheHeavens its not always been like this though?

Liquid omeprazole, you get it in powder form in a bottle and add water. You can add it to the milk. Excellent stuff, completely transformed our DD who suffered terribly with reflux

Princesspeony · 08/01/2023 21:07

It can be quite normal and long as he is still putting on weight and generally seems well and content then no need to do anything other than have a large supply of muslin’s and a change of clothes wherever you go.

CraneBoysMysteries · 08/01/2023 21:08

Reflux usually does start at around 4 weeks so normal is they've got it

Are you BF or formula?

We moved to an anti reflux formula and it stopped pretty quickly

ScoobyBooby · 08/01/2023 21:10

Does he any other symptoms ?
has it got worse with him upping feeds ?

First thought was a cows milk protein allergy together with reflux .

Fluffluff · 08/01/2023 21:10

There's a chance it could be pyloric stenosis.
Most likely relux but really need to see GP
