8 week old - 30 minute cat naps

FTM to an 8 week old baby.

Baby sleeps well at night, he wakes 2-3 times but overall sleeps in big chunks from 8pm-8am and settles easily.

In the daytime he barely sleeps and constantly has cat naps of around 30mins. It takes him ages to go down (rocking etc) and when he does it’s for such a short period of time. He then wakes up cranky crying etc. This applies to naps in the basinnet, contact naps on me and also in the sling. He always wakes after 30 mins.

He does however sleep in the buggy / car for 2 hours on the trot which is great but I can’t always go out with him, ie poor weather / if we’re ill. The buggy can’t come into our flat as we are quite high up.

I pay attention to his sleepy cues and try and put him down straight away but he resists so much and then has such a short sleep.

Any tips? Any resources?

Thanks x

No tips, but solidarity! I had the baby you've just described. He didn't start to nap "properly" until 9 months when he started crawling. He does up to two hours now, but that was a long 9 months...
