11 week old - arm and neck strength

Hello everyone

I have an 11 week old DD who is doing great but I’ve noticed her arm and neck strength is quite weak. I do practice arm strengthening exercises, like tummy time, pull ups, etc with her but not much luck. She doesn’t bring her hands to her face to chew on them and struggles to hold her head. Did anyone else go through this with babies of this age?

It's not uncommon for neck strength to not be formed until 4 months and then continues, such as needing stability for weaning from 6 months (and onwards).

I wouldn't worry to much and just keep doing the tummy time etc.

Also ask your health visitor at baby clinic / weight clinic to check her over, this is exactly the kind of issue they are for x

My ds didn't hold his head until 12 weeks spot on when he did it for ages and ages. He looked like quagmire from family guy "giggedy giggedy".

@Techno56 thanks love, my HV just said to do more tummy time but my LO hates it, she’ll just lie there eating her arms, tried everything to distract her from it but she ain’t having any of it x
