Hi, I’m finding it hard to get my 7 month old into a routine. He wakes at different times every morning which messes up naps so he naps at random times. I try and put him down to bed at 7/7.30 but this goes out the window, he ends up wanting a bottle around 5.30/6 and then doesn’t have one before bed.

Do I delay this bottle and have him be upset so he has one around bed? How do I get into a good routine for naps and 2 meals? What is everyone’s routines for 7 month old??

What time do you aim for for milk and meals?
Mine had milk at 7, 11, 3 and 7 approx and then food at 8, 12 and 5 roughly

What does your ideal routine look like? How are his naps? What do meals look like right now? Can you temporarily give him an additional, smaller bottle to get him through to bedtime?

I didn't really settle into our routine until about 7 months, and even then for us naps were a problem.

@dementedpixie so wake up is usually between 7-8am so bottle 8am, breakfast meal 9am, aim for nap around 10ish usually only 30/40 mins however next week starting a weekly class on Tuesday mornings which starts at 10.30 so hoping the 30 min walk there in pushchair he’ll nap!

He usually has bottles every 4/5 hours and I’ve been giving food an hour after bottles 2 times a day and thinking of introducing a third meal next week.

@ToddleToddleToddle I do wonder if making a smaller bottle for bedtime would do the trick. Before Christmas we were in a fab bedtime routine (probably most structured part of the day!) and he was going down in the cot but he was poorly over Xmas and teething badly so routines gone out the window since then!
