Fast heart rate - Side effects 16 week vaccines

5 month old has had them late due to sickness then Christmas.

Gave first dose of paracetamol as routine then 4 hours later with second dose temp was 37.8.

He seemed hot an hour later and his temp had gone up to 39. I've checked to see if it's come down, 3 hours later and it's still 38.8. His heart is going really fast so I can't be accurate but I think it's around 166 BPM.

He's going from calm-ish to a straining sound every now and again like he's uncomfortable. I can't give him any ibuprofen, any suggestions on what to do as the next dose of paracetamol can't be given for another hour. (He's in a vest at the moment in a room that's 20 degrees.)

Is that a sleeping heart rate or a waking one?

Ring 111

Phone 111, don’t ever rely on mumsnet for medical advice for a small baby. It’s probably just slightly high due to the fever, but nobody can no here so don’t be afraid to phone 111.

I feel so silly and awful at the same time. I've been told by 111 that over 12 weeks is fine for ibuprofen. Our eldest wasn't over 5kg at his age and I stupidly never checked the bottle and only checked online which said no to under 6 months unless advised by a doctor (not correct!)

Waking heart rate @bloodywhitecat. I've been told that's a normal heart rate though.

They're saying they might want to just check him over OOH but now I've found out about the ibuprofen (which was all I wanted to know really), I don't really want to cause a fuss.
