Need a break?

Is it normal to feel so overwhelmed from working, being a mother and being a wife? That it puts a massive strain on your marriage and you feel like you could do with a break from parenthood or your marriage?

Has anyone else felt like this or am I a really awful mum?

I can't imagine a mum not feeling that at some point.

Tell your partner exactly what you need.

I am at my wits end. Single parent so not much I can do realistically but I cannot wait for school to go back! If I hear “mummy, mummy, mummy, mummy, mummy” one more time I think I’ll jump in front of a bus! (Only half kidding)

Totally normal. I feel like I need to check out of 'life' for a few weeks in its entirety (not in a suicidal way, just a 'get away from all responsibility' way). Try and work out if there is anything that can give, try to delegate/get support from others where you can and try to make sure you are doing at least one thing a week which is time for you.
