Potty training and disturbed sleep - anyone got the solution?

My lovely 3 yo DS1 is being a horror about sleeping. There's lots going on in his head at the mo, but I think one of the problems is he's getting bladder control so he's waking up needing a wee in the night. Once he's awake he's scared of the dark/lonely/hungry/noticing that his nightlight turns red/whatever.

ANyone had this? What did you do?

Hmm, I don't think you can do a lot, just go in and comfort, it will pass

My DD went through an awkward phase when we were potty training, and although she was still in night nappies she would keep waking up all anxious about needing a wee. It didn't last all that long, and I don't think there is much you can do apart from be sympathetic. On the plus side, she was obviously very aware and in control of her bladder so was dry at night very early. Maybe this will be the plus side of your disturbed nights eventually?

Thanks guys. Yeah, Maenad, he does seem to be dry quite a lot of nights. Until of course I told him about the patterns on his pullups that disappear if he wees - now we wants them to disappear so deliberately wees on them. Gah!

Seems to be calming down a bit. Hopefully new bed arriving this weekend won'tmake it worse!
