Feel like I’m on my knees

I am pregnant with DC2 and the due date is in 2 days. I also have DD 2yrs. We’ve both been poorly with this bug that seems to have hit everyone hard. DD had it for a couple of weeks and it seems to be on its way out now. However, I feel like like I’m barely scraping myself through the day. I feel really poorly and in pain from being so heavily pregnant. I’ve got lots of help from my mum while DH is at work but I’m really worried that I’m going to give birth whilst still feeling really poorly and then I could give it to the newborn 😢 or that I’ll give it to my mum and she’ll be poorly when baby arrives.

I don’t know the point of this really. Has anyone got experience of giving birth while poorly? How did you cope?

Have you seen a doctor about feeling poorly? You need to

@mackthepony yes I’ve seen my consultant and midwife on Tuesday when I had a scan

Did they give you any medication? Sounds like you might need to see a GP if not Flowers

I found the last few weeks of pregnancy with an older DD (aged 2) so tough. But honestly the adrenaline kicks in a bit after birth and then you just have to cope for a bit. I physically felt a lot better/more able once baby was born as well. Keep your standards low and ask for help where you can.

I think if you can, just go to bed and rest as much as you can and leave your DD to your mum and DH.

Late pregnancy and a toddler too is exhausting, without illness making it all worse.
