Stopping BF - breasts misbehaving

I stopped the last feed a week ago, so totally finished BF. One breast was very happy about this and deflated within 24 hours. The other was outraged! I pumped a little off for a couple of days to relieve the pressure, and since then it hasn't reached the drum-tight level anymore.
But a week later they are still quite tender to touch. Outraged breast is still pretty full of milk, and now has golf ball sized lumps too. If I express a little the lumps disappear, but come back later.
Should I just persevere and eventually they'll stop hurting and being lumpy?

Try making a compress from cold cabbage leaves or cabbage breast cream - it always worked for my. @Gingernat

Take a couple of sudafed and cabbage leaves in bra. There's a reason BF women aren't allowed to take decongestants. It literally tanks milk supply.
